Get a good bag that you can keep all of your pet supplies in. A backpack or a duffle bag are good options, especially those with several zippered compartments.

  • When packing your pet’s food, you should bring along enough for 3 to 7 days. Look for pop top cans that don’t require a can opener or wet food that comes packed in foil pouches. Pack your dry food in Ziploc bags or in Tupperware.
  • Bring enough bottled water for 3 to 7 days. You’ll want a water dish as well since your pet probably can’t handle a bottle of water.
  • Microchip your pet so that it can be found if it runs off. Make sure you bring all identification with you as well.
