Going on vacation is supposed to be a relaxing time for you and your family. However, coming home to a major disaster in your home that could easily cost you thousands of dollars or even the use of your home for a time is anything but relaxing. When it’s time to go on vacation, make sure to take the necessary steps to prevent these disasters.
Burglary
Somebody breaking into your home while you’re out of town is a very real possibility – even if you live in a safe community. To avoid becoming a target for thieves, make sure your lawn stays mowed, your mail gets collected and somebody takes the time to turn lights on and off during the day or put them on a timer.
Mold
In the summer, it doesn’t take much for mold to become an issue if you live in a humid climate. To combat mold, make sure the thermostat is set no higher than 80 degrees Fahrenheit to keep mold at bay. If you have somebody watching your home, ask them to turn on the air daily.
