Find out what places in your area provide shelter to pets. Emergency shelters often do not accept pets for health reasons. Find hotels or motels in the area that do allow pets in case you need to evacuate your home.

  • If you need to leave your home, you’ll want to bring a number of things with you for your pet, including pet food, pet medication, can opener, food and water bowls, bottled water, a first-aid kit and the pet’s veterinary records.
