Mold is not something that you want growing in your home, but sometimes it can be present without you knowing. You’ll want to spot any mold in your home before it begins growing as it can become a costly issue to fix. The following are a few signs of mold to look for:
- Symptoms – Mold can cause symptoms in those living in your home. These symptoms include asthmatic reactions, sore eyes, coughing, sore throat, stuffed nose, runny nose, itchy skin and sneezing.
- Scent – Mold has a very specific smell. The stronger the smell is, the closer you are to mold growth. If you notice the smell getting worse when you’re running the heat or air conditioning, you may have mold growing in your HVAC system.
- Sight – It can be difficult to spot mold even if you’re looking right at it. Small spots of mold on the wall could be a result of mold growing through. It’s also often found in the grout lines between bathroom tiles.
- Humidity – If you’re home has a high level of humidity, there’s a greater chance of mold.
