Odds are your home is going to experience a heavy rain storm or two, which means you should prepare your home in order to avoid possible damage. Use the following tips to do just that.
- Gutters – Make sure your gutters are clear of any leaves or debris. If they are clogged, it can cause rainwater to build up, which can then seep into your home or damage your foundation.
- Leaks – Make sure your windows, doors and roof are all leak-proof. If you notice any stains or leaks in your ceiling, have the roof checked immediately for damage.
- Store Outdoor Items – Bring in any outdoor furniture or accessories before a storm is supposed to hit. These items can be blown into your home in high winds, possibly causing damage to your windows.
- Trees – Keep trees around your home and power lines trimmed. Have branches that are dead or lying low professionally removed.
