You should always get multiple estimates. Some insurance companies might require that you have several estimates. Regardless, it is always a good idea to check with several contractors before proceeding with hiring a contractor to work on your home.
Avoid telling the bidding contractors how much your insurance will cover. Some contractors might try to add on costs to get close to that insurance payment.
