Ladder use – Propping up your ladder to clean out the gutters or fix the roof may seem like a relatively easy task, but there are roughly 164,000 reported injuries every year in the United States caused by ladder-related accidents. When using a ladder, make sure it’s on firm ground and that it has slip-resistant feet.

  • The heat – Intense heat has been known to cause heat-related illnesses and death. Make sure that you drink plenty of fluids during the summer, and that you keep track of children and elderly people.
  • Swimming – The swimming pool is a summer staple, but make sure you have a fence surrounding it to prevent children from wandering in. Additionally, all children should be supervised and no one should go swimming alone – not even adults!

Keep these summer dangers in mind so that you can have a safe and fun summer. Contact Parker Young for more Georgia disaster prevention advice today.
