If it storms to the point where hail hits your roof, then one of the things you’ll want to do after the storm clears is to check for signs of damage. Hail damage needs to be fixed right away as it can cause serious issues to your roof later on. The following are a few signs of hail damage on a roof to look out for:
- Check for water damage or water leaks in your attic. If you see any water stains on your ceilings or walls, this is most likely as a result of roof leaks caused by the hail.
- Walk around your property and inspect the roof for any missing shingles or pieces of metal fascia, such as the metal pieces around your chimney. You should also inspect the areas where the roof meets your walls for damage.
- If you can get a closer look at your roof, then look for dimples in your roof shingles that were made by small pieces of hail. It’s usually a better idea to have a professional inspect your roof closely for safety reasons.
